Houses along Beach Boulevard in Pascagoula

Thanks to Hurricane Katrina the look of the homes on Beach Boulevard will change forever. As you can see by these photos taken on October 5, 2007 some lots are still vacant, some still have trailers, some are still under construction and some are complete. If you were fortunate enough to get your building permit prior to FEMA issuing their advisory flood maps residence were able to rebuild their homes as a slab on grade. Residence who received their permit after the maps were issued had to elevate their homes to be in compliance with the advisory maps causing some residence to build at elevation 14 to 18 feet high.
